"La Gorda" sculpture of Botero got her nails painted!

La Gorda con uñas pintadas

Oh yeah, someone decided that it was time for "La Gorda" to get some beauty on her. The people of Bucaramanga Colombia made it part of them, beautified a monotonous and distant work  painting the nails of "La Gorda" sculpture of Fernando Botero.

Well, if we consider that this is an approach to closer people to a piece of art, that "by definition" is labeled as " high art ", ends up being outside for the public reach; in a curious way this is an appropriation and a sign of acceptance in the local imaginary ... this means that "La Gorda" of Bucaramanga is now unique, no longer a replica over the world in the thousands.

The Can Opener

A Tale of Millôr Fernandes (Brasil)

Millôr Fernandes, was one of the best Latin American short story writer in recent times. Columnist, playwright, poet, short story writer, translator... I just saying...

Interesting things we found out there

Artists have a different brain to other people. So says a study published in the journal NeuroImage that ensures that the brains of artists and those who are not, are structurally different.

The report conclusions drawn from various scans and tests that say, in part, that talent is innate in artists. Experts warn that the environment around them, the entertainment and environment are essential to the development of more "special" abilities.
